Before
we get into what agility supplies you will
need, lets talk a little bit about what an agility course is as your
dog sees
it. Dog agility is a dog sport in which a trainer directs her dog
through an obstacle course. For your dog the agility course is like an
amusement park . You and
your dog will learn to work together and it will strength the bond
between you.
The beauty of an agility course is that it is relatively easy to learn and most
dogs will do well with minimal training. Agility will also provide quality excercise for both human and dog.

Various Agility Equipment
Agility Tunnels for Dogs
Agility Tunnels is a barrel like cylinder with a tube constucted of
flexible material and wire so it can be placed in a variety of shapes
and curves. Agility Tunnels will offer your dog a unique way to get
fit. For an individual just looking to have some fun with his dog, a
good tunnel would be one that can be put together and dismantled
quickly.
Jumps or Hurdles
The Jumps or Hurdles are constructed using a few horizontal bars spread
forward or back from each other but can also be place in other
variations.
Weave Poles
The weave poles are a series of vertical poles (5-12) which are spaced
about 50 cm apart. Your dog will need to learn how to weave in and out
of the poles. In professional agility courses, the dog needs to enter
with the first pole on her left and must not skip any poles. The weave
poles are usually harder to master from a dog and human perspective.
Pause Box
A pause box is a simple elevated square table in which your dog will
need to learn how to sit until being told to get off. You can basically
use anything as a pause box and if you are not going professional then
you have no need to buy one.
